Master/Specialist for event technology (f/m/d) (full-time: 35 hours)

The Schlachthof cultural centre has been an integral part of cultural life in Bremen for 40 years. It offers a varied programme of events for different target groups and runs cultural workshops that organise themed projects for cultural and artistic activities. The day-to-day business of the centre is managed by a collegial self-administration.

Your tasks:
- Realisation and supervision of the technical set-up and dismantling of events as well as rehearsals and performances
- Operation of technical event equipment such as sound, lighting and projection: Sound, lighting and projection
- Technical planning and implementation of a wide range of event formats
- Duty planning- Management and supervision of events in accordance with MVstättV and DGUV
- Visual and functional inspections and repair of work and operating equipment
- Compliance with applicable standards, technical rules, regulations and laws relating to event technology

Your profile:
- Completed training as a specialist for event technology with several years of professional experience or master craftsman for event technology
- Empathy and confidence in the realisation of artistic specifications and a good understanding of artistic- technical contexts
- Willingness to undergo further training and familiarisation with new digital event technology
- Willingness to participate in the training of apprentices

 We expect:

- Cooperative collaboration within and outside the company with professional and non-professional organisers and actors
- Flexibility in working hours, especially evening, public holiday and weekend work

Apprenticeship: Event manager (m/f/d)

Your tasks:
- Support in the planning, organisation and implementation of concerts and cultural events
- Assist in the coordination with artists, technicians and other service providers
- Help with budget planning and control
- Support in the creation and administration of contracts
- Participate in marketing and PR measures for events
- Support guests and artists during events
- Support in the follow-up and evaluation of events

Your profile:
- You have reached the age of 18. You have reached the age of 18 and have at least a high school diploma
- You have an interest in the event industry and a passion for music and culture
- You have a strong organisational talent and a meticulous way of working
- You have strong communication skills and prefer team-oriented work
- You have flexibility and resilience, even in stressful situations
- You have a good knowledge of the common MS Office programs and the latest hardware and software
- You are willing to work late at night occasionally and to work evenings, holidays and weekends
- You have good written and spoken German and English skills

Apprenticeship: Event technician (m/f/d)

We are looking for a trainee for event technology from 1 September 2025.

Requirements: Any person who has reached the age of 18 and has at least a secondary school leaving certificate can become an event technology specialist.

Further requirements:
- technical understanding
- manual dexterity
- artistic and creative talent and an understanding of technical and artistic contexts
- ability to work in a team, reliability and a sense of responsibility
- a generally good physical condition, as assembly work and night work, for example, are part of everyday life in this profession
- good English

Working at weekends and on public holidays is a matter of course in the production and event business, as are changing work locations and flexible working hours.

Tasks and areas of work: Event technology specialists learn to prepare events and provide technical support. They need to know which equipment and facilities are suitable and how to install and operate them. They also set up stages and the necessary equipment and take care of the power supply as well as lighting and sound for acoustic and visual effects. They actively assist the artists and event technology masters and use their expertise to ensure the success of the event or production. Their field of activity can range from developing an event concept to advising the organisers, planning and implementing the event and invoicing the work carried out.
